I can't be believe there's still no good calendar apps that allows to duplicate events between private and work calendars and is also able to correctly identify duplicated events.
Notion calendar is the best one, but sometimes it breaks :(

What do you use to copy the events from one calendar to the other?

Copy and Paste and/or the Duplicate command. Then just change the calendar. As soon as you stop editing, it will group the new event with the duplicates.
@carlton gotcha! I wonder if I'll build something for this myself in future. Notion Calendar makes it easy to add events to multiple calendar (either with info or without)
I use them to share things with my GF and to block stuff on my work calendar, while still having my personal calendar as the source of truth for how "busy" I am
