:has, text-indent: hanging, text-wrap: balance, iframe lazy loading, … #Firefox 121 is released today with lots of presents for web developers 🥳
@FirefoxDevTools social sharing tags missing from your masto instance? (OG tags and whatnot). Or am I having incredible bad luck when pasting your link into work slack?
@FirefoxDevTools YASS
@FirefoxDevTools enabled JPEG XL support yet? any news on the RSS front?
@FirefoxDevTools Everybody with any kind of accessibility needs hates firefos updates. Things are changed, moved around, removed, shuffled changed for no good reason. it has been ok for a couple of updates now, but every time I see this announced, I wonder if this is the time I have to give up on firefox and try something a little more... stable and permanent.
@FirefoxDevTools Christmas is a few days early this year!
@FirefoxDevTools I'm so so very happy that `:has` has finally landed.
@Supertapani maybe you could try Firefox ESR (www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/#product-desktop-esr) which is only updated every 9 months.
Note that we have a dedicated team for accessibility and they're part of the development process to make sure that the browser is accessible.
If you see specific issues, can you report them on https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/ (or here, and I'll file bugs) so we can act on those, thanks.
@FirefoxDevTools The most disastrous change was the one where Firefox suddenly started taking its colors from windows. Many of has have very carefully customized windows color schemes - with light theme, custom dark windows bars, and window background color set in registry. One day Firefox just started taking parts of that. that is when I moved to Opera.
Another example of a huge annoyance is when the' Close Multiple tabs' was moved to a submenu.
These redesigns are always a big problem.
@oblomov I don't think there's any update on those.
For RSS, it looks like there are webextensions that can fill the gap, like https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/want-my-rss/
